Numerous cases of cancer are spreading in the Philippines. As of 2013, our country holds the highest record of breast cancer patients in Asia. Medical authorities said that one out of 13 Filipinas is bound to have a breast cancer.

Ashitaba, a plant that is a native of Hachijojima Island in Japan, have nutritional and health benefits due to the plant’s high chlorophyll extensive. Ashitaba is unique among the Angelicas due to its tasty edibility and the presence of substantial levels of B12, a vitamin normally not found in terrestrial plants.

Ashitaba can help prevent cancer because it contains flavonoids known as chalcones in its yellow sap and it helps the production of interferon which fights some type of cancer like tumors, kidney cancer, multiple myeloma and malignant melanoma.

According to the Department of Health , This herb not only treats cancer but also aids in treating the lungs, coughing, asthma, digestive system, gall bladder, disorders of the gastrointestinal system, kidneys and kidney stones, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, blood poisoning, skin allergies, eczema and psoriasis, rheumatism, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes and it also helps increase the flow of breast milk of women.

Ashitaba contains protein, antioxidants, saponins, amino acids, vitamins, vitamin B12, vitamin C, B-Carotene, potassium, calcium, iron and minerals which makes it effective as a medicine. Ashitaba is called “longetivity herb” and "tomorrow's leaf" because when harvesting one leaf from the plant, you can expect to see a new one "tomorrow." The plant does rejuvenate itself very quickly in much the same way as it rejuvenates the human digestion and skin.
